Philosophy
For Steve, photography is an endless quest for harmony.

Style
Steve is still seeking his photographic "voice" but feels a definite pull towards black and white cityscapes and landscapes.

Technique

Using a Nikon digital camera and Adobe Lightroom, Steve finds the combination of the creative and the technical very absorbing and satisfying.

​

​​Background

Steve has been photographing since his teens when his parents gave him a Kodak Instamatic camera for his birthday, but really only started to get serious about photography in 2006 after a weekend workshop with Sherman Hines. Then in 2010, Steve took another weekend workshop, this time with Eric Boutilier-Brown.  Since then, Steve has taken additional courses with Eric, as well as walking tours and tutorials with other photographers while travelling in Canada and the UK.  Joining Viewpoint Gallery is the next step in his photographic development

Awards

Dr. G.W. Archibald Gold-headed Cane Award in the Humanities, from the Dalhousie Healing & Education through the Arts & Life Skills (HEALS) program, 2018.
